VIETNAM
Bona Fide NóN Lá Experience
DURATION
5 days
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Understand the value of empathy and social responsibility
Bring fun and fulfillment to life through volunteering and giving back to the community
Develop resilience and learn failure management through various activities
OVERVIEW
Unlike developed cities, where we can purchase products and services steps away from home, many Vietnamese locals live their lives using precious natural resources that the earth offers them. During our educational tour, other than sightseeing, students will make their very own Vietnamese products such as coconut sweets and traditional hats, help out on selling fresh produce on boats, be responsible for one of the dinners by catching fish using traditional bucket tools and participating in many meaningful activities. Students will also be contributing to the community by repairing leaf-roofed houses and teaching local students English.
This tour provides opportunities for students to learn a culture by actual, physical participation, rather than purely observing. Through the activities, students will step out of their comfort zones and personally be a part of the culture. Moreover, all activities aim to allow students to understand the lives of people from totally different backgrounds by interacting with local people.
