OVERVIEW
Adapted from elements of Japan's school graduation tours, this program offers participants a blend of traditional activities, nature exploration, educational visits, and team-building games, focusing on "Discovery, Delight, Dedication".
Central to Japanese culture is the concept of 'Wa' (harmony), which emphasizes cooperation and collaboration over individual achievements. Among the program highlights are SDG-themed community service for social good, as well as the Taiko drumming experience, where students learn to play powerful rhythms, connecting with Japan's rich musical heritage.
Another key aspect of the tour is 'Satoyama,' the ideal coexistence between humans and nature, which permeates many aspects of Japanese daily life. Mount Tsukuba, known for its accessible trails and stunning views, provides students with the opportunity to connect with nature, engage in environmental education, and practice survival skills. This is particularly meaningful as even preschoolers and kindergarteners in Tsukuba frequently venture up the mountain! The tour concludes with a reflective campfire evening, where students share the insights gained from their adventures.
