Sports Education Tour
DURATION
6 days
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Develop resilience and learn failure management
Improve sports skills, teamwork and self-regulation
Learn about the importance of recovery, sports science, and personal growth
OVERVIEW
All children encounter stress of varying degrees as they grow. Despite their best efforts, parents can’t protect kids from obstacles. Resilience helps kids navigate these stressful situations, and exercise is one of the way to strengthen the brain and make it more resilient to stress and adversity.
This tour offers students interested in ping pong, badminton, volleyball, or football an opportunity to enhance their athletic skills while immersing themselves in Japanese culture. Over six action-packed days, participants will engage in expert coaching, competitive matches, and diverse physical activities designed to enhance fitness, teamwork, and endurance. From the discipline of Kendo and rhythmic Taiko drumming to outdoor adventures like hiking at one of the most famous mountains in Japan - Mount Tsukuba which is also a common excursion for Tsukuba primary schools, followed by orienteering activity, this tour is blending sports with cultural learning. With dedicated time for sports science and recovery, including physiotherapy and onsen bathing, students will return with not only improved athletic abilities but also a deeper appreciation for health, resilience, and cross-cultural experiences.
