OVERVIEW

This performance tour is designed to immerse participants in the enriching music and heritage unique to Japan. Under the theme “The Wind Blows Where It Will,” we embark on a journey where the wind symbolizes creativity, freedom, and expression. Imagine, if you will, the gentle whispers of the wind guiding us through the landscapes of Tsukuba and Tokyo, carrying our melodies far and wide. As our musical spirits soar across cultures, genres, and languages, we foster a humble appreciation for learning and music.

Participate in enriching masterclasses to refine your skills while gaining valuable insights. Experience an exclusive opportunity to play alongside a local shakuhachi master, embracing rich traditions of this ancient Japanese instrument. Engage in international exchanges with local school bands, bond over half-day cultural lessons and activities, deepening your understanding of Japanese heritage. Showcase talents and contribute to the local community through two performances: a joint concert with the local school and a master, and a community performance. Immerse yourself in cultural experiences with hands-on Japanese Taiko drumming workshops and the unique opportunity to wear Yukata attire while attending local festivals. Don't miss out on this unforgettable journey of music, tradition, and camaraderie!
