Differences Make a Great Society
DURATION
6 days
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Understand the value of empathy and social responsibility
Experience social inclusion and improving teamwork with different abilities and age group
Learn how to accept adversity, overcome it, and remain optimistic through each failure
OVERVIEW
With its racially diverse population, melting pot of ethnic cultures and diverse religious traditions, Singapore is a city that epitomises the beauty of multiculturalism. In this six-day educational tour, students will learn to embrace differences, understand harmony at a deeper level, learn about their own values, identities and strength, and how they could use them to help others through pragmatic and creative workshops such as StrengthsFinder. They will also participate in team-building activities, visit social organisations as volunteers, and meet the think-tank behind a non-profit organisation rooted in support of youth, talent and leadership development. Through hands-on experience and exposure to new cultures, students learn collaboration and problem-solving skills while making contributions that are both meaningful and sustainable.
