Burghard Toelke is regularly invited as a soloist and has performed with the Central German Chamber Philharmonic and the Göttingen Symphony Orchestra. Solo concert tours have taken him regularly to many countries, such as Japan or Iran. International master classes he attended, such as the Szymanowski Quartet, the International chamber Music Academy Frenswegen in 2003, the Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic in Zermatt in 2006 and 2007. In 2010, at the Summer Academy the Vienna Philharmonic in Salzburg.

Toelke first took his violin lessons with Barbara Rau-Reuter at the age of eight and it was only two years later he had won a first prize at the Young Musicians competition both in 1994 and 1998. In the following years, Toelke continued studies with Prof. Vladimir Malinin and the legendary first violinist of the Amadeus Quartet, Prof. Norbert Brainin, at the Academy of Music Franz Liszt in Weimar, and Prof. Thomas Christian of the University of Music Detmold.

He graduated with a bachelor's degree - Artistic Training violin in Detmold, and moved to the Vienna Conservatory in 2003. In 2007, under the guidance of Prof. Florian Zwiauer, he graduated with the Bachelor degree of Art. In 2010, graduated from the academic degree of Master of Arts. And in 2013, he obtained his Master of Art Education.

Currently, Toelke is a lecturer of the Austrian Cultural Forum in Tehran for violin, viola and string ensembles and as lecturer in violin at the International Soloist Masterclass Vienna. He is regularly invited as guest concertmaster with various European orchestras.
