OVERVIEW
Silicon Valley is renowned as the major hub for the development of emerging technologies, inventions and innovations and has been the bedrock in nurturing technology startups for over two decades. With visits to internationally acclaimed companies in the fields of creative technology, electronic technology, bio-technology and social media, students will be able to get a holistic understanding of the conglomerate and network of technology and innovation that these companies are representing and where the future are leading for them. They will also get to meet the practitioners, scholars and funders behind the scenes and investigate how the different facets of innovations impact our daily behaviours on a global scale.
This tour intends to put students onto the front seats in the technology arena to get an overview of where the future is heading and how technology enhances our living. Towards the end of the tour, we will take the students to immerse in nature at the Big Trees State Park for reflections and discuss if nature and technology could be for or against one another? And our roles, if we humans are part of nature or are always part of technology?
